Joseph Messiha is a strategic and highly experienced educational leader with over 25 years of service across Independent, Catholic, and Government sectors in New South Wales. His career is distinguished by executive leadership in curriculum governance, regulatory compliance, student wellbeing, and whole school operational management within faith based educational contexts.

Joseph commenced his career as the inaugural TAS teacher at St Mark's Coptic Orthodox College, where he successfully established compliant curriculum frameworks and led the faculty through its first accreditation processes. From the outset, he demonstrated a strong capacity to build sustainable academic structures aligned with NESA requirements.

He subsequently held leadership positions at Thomas Hassall Anglican College and Galstaun College before being appointed Director of Teaching and Learning at Maronite College of the Holy Family. In this executive role, Joseph oversaw NESA registration and accreditation, HSC and NAPLAN data analysis, examination timetabling, policy development, faculty leadership, and whole school academic governance. He worked in close partnership with wellbeing leadership to ensure alignment between academic excellence and student care.

Joseph also served within the NSW Department of Education, where he held senior responsibilities including Relieving Head Teacher Secondary Studies and Information Technology Coordinator. His experience across the public sector strengthened his expertise in compliance, assessment oversight, digital strategy implementation, and executive level reporting and data analysis.

In 2022, Joseph was appointed Head of Senior School at St Mary and St Mina’s Coptic Orthodox College. As a member of the College Executive Team, he holds responsibility for curriculum leadership, assessment governance, NESA compliance, reporting frameworks, timetabling structures, eVET coordinating, study skills initiatives, and the strategic oversight of student welfare across Years 7 to 12.

With the appointment of Mrs Mikhail as Head of Teaching and Learning and Mrs Nicola as Head of Welfare in late 2024, Joseph leads a strengthened executive structure within the Senior School, headed by Mrs Mary Nicola as Acting Head of College. Together, they provide focused and accountable leadership across academic performance and student wellbeing, ensuring consistency, regulatory integrity, and a high performance culture grounded in pastoral care.

In 2026, Joseph was appointed K - 12 Head of Campuses, a senior executive role extending his leadership across both the Rockdale and Bexley campuses. In this capacity, he holds overarching responsibility for Student Wellbeing, Policy Implementation, and Community and Church outreach, strengthening the College’s commitment to holistic education and strong partnerships with families and the wider faith community. This position reflects his deep rooted commitment to the College community and his strategic focus on fostering stability, clarity of systems, and connected K to 12 leadership. Joseph holds a Master of Educational Leadership and brings extensive expertise in governance, policy formation, compliance management, staff development, and educational technology integration. He is a qualified Youth Mental Health First Aider and has contributed to syllabus consultation processes at state level.

Joseph’s leadership philosophy is anchored in structured excellence, clear accountability, and relational integrity. He is committed to ensuring that every student is supported to achieve academically, grow in character, and flourish within a Christ centred educational environment.
