College Board

Governance at St Mary and St Mina’s

St Mary and St Mina’s Coptic Orthodox College is governed by a dedicated skills-based College Board, entrusted with stewarding the College’s mission, values and strategic direction. As custodians of the College’s past, present and future, our Board brings a wealth of experience across a range of professional and academic areas.

The College Board is responsible for the governance of the College and delegates the day-to-day management and operational leadership to the Head of College. The Head of College is appointed by the Board and attends all Board meetings as of right, providing regular reports and strategic updates.

The Board meets regularly and convenes additional workshops to consider long-term planning, governance priorities and emerging governance developments. Board members are persons of good character, committed to upholding both the moral and legal responsibilities of their role.

A key responsibility of the Board is to ensure the College complies with all relevant State and Federal legislation. This includes oversight of record-keeping, reporting obligations and regulatory compliance with agencies such as the NSW Minister for Education and the Australian Department of Education. Operational responsibility for these matters is delegated to the Head of College, who reports to the Board at each meeting.

Our Board members share a common purpose: to support the fulfilment of the educational mission of the Coptic Orthodox Church. Their leadership ensures that the College remains faithful to its spiritual foundations while delivering excellence in education, wellbeing and community engagement.

Our Current Board members are:

  • Mr Mahrous (Ross) Nassif - Board Member
  • Dr Lydia Moussa - Board Member
  • Mr Mark Girgis - Board Member
